Application Form for Schools / Teachers / Students / Scientists

Thank you for your interest in the NOAA Adopt a Drifter Program (ADP). We will carefully review your classroom’s application, including the lesson plans. Please note that it may take time to fulfill each request since there are a limited number of drifting buoys available for deployment each year. If you are chosen as a participant, our team will reach out by email to provide information about your selected buoy and links to track your buoy’s trajectory and sea surface conditions. Additionally, the signed logo that we receive with your application will be featured on the Adopt a Drifter website’s tracking page. Students will then be able to follow their drifting buoy as it moves across the ocean.
